Ich werde die Beschreibung der Handlung oder Teile davon nicht wiederholen. Sie finden Alles in anderen Rezensionen. Die Geschichte selber ist absolut lesenswert. Sehr gestört haben die an manchen Stellen auftauchenden geschmacklosen Übertreibungen, die in der Zuschreibung nicht Halt machen vor Personen die als klug und geschmackvoll gelten sollen. Beispiel, die Bestellung einer (potthässlichen) Hummer Limousine von Maria für einen romantischen Transport oder auch die Nutzung von mal eben geliehenen luxuriösen Großflugzeugen, der Schlafräume zuliebe. Jeisas Vater benimmt sich so fürchterlich, dass er kein bisschen liebenswert oder als liebender besorgter Vater rüberkommt und man die Annäherung mit Maria der Schriftstellerin nicht abkauft. Vielleicht stört es Andere weniger als mich also Schluss jetzt mit der Meckerei. Ich hab die Geschichte trotzdem genossen und mochte die meisten Protagonisten.

Der Klappentext klang interessant und die erste Zeit wurde ich auch wirklich gut unterhalten.Jeisa- Jeremys Imageberaterin, die ihre immer stärker werdenden Gefühle für Jeremy entdeckte, der jedoch blind für ihre Gefühle zu sein schien und einen riesigen Aufwand, mit ihrer Hilfe betrieb, um bei seiner Traumfrau endlich" landen" zu können.Als sich dann auch endlich Jeremys Sicht auf Jeisa änderte, trennten die beiden jedoch immer wieder Unsicherheit, Zweifel und Missverständnisse.Trotz seiner neuen Art cool zu tun, ließ sich der Nerd bei Jeremy nie ganz verleugnen, er war in vielen Dingen einfach zu unerfahren und machte deshalb einige Anfängerfehler in Bezug auf den Umgang mit Frauen.Süß fand ich ihn trotzdem. 😍Jeisa fehlte das nötige Selbstvertrauen und auch das Vertrauen zu Jeremy. Die meisten Probleme wären ansonsten nie entstanden.Leider reizte mich die Geschichte nach ungefähr der Hälfte des Buches immer weniger, was daran lag, das ab ca. diesen Zeitpunkt, vermehrt Figuren aus den anderen Teilen der Serie in das Geschehen involviert waren.Diese quasselten endlos über Dinge, die mich nicht interessierten und vom Hauptgeschehen ablenkten.Außerdem würde es immer schnulziger.Ohne Vorkenntnisse kann man das Buch zwar lesen, aber wirklich Freude hat es mir nicht gemacht.Deshalb, wer gerne diese Romanreihe lesen möchte, sollte besser bei Band eins beginnen.

Eine Geschichte, wo ich mich nicht so recht entscheiden konnte, ob ich drei oder vier Sterne verteile. Da Autoren immer so viel Herzblut in ihr Werk stecken und der Schreibstil leicht und flüssig ist, bin ich dann bei 4 Sternen geblieben.Zuerst einmal hatte ich aufgrund des Klappentextes eine andere Geschichte erwartet, aber wahrscheinlich mein Fehler. Ich dachte, dass Jeisa unseren guten Jeremy unter die Fittiche nimmt und ihn "aufpimpt" und dabei verlieben sie sich. Irgendwie war es ja auch so, nur dass diese Aufbesserung und wie sie passiert irgendwie gar keine Rolle spielt und schon bei Buchbeginn fast vorbei ist.Man erfährt in Rückblicken Kleinigkeiten, aber eigentlich ist er schon fertig, wenn man zu lesen beginnt.Jeisa ist Lateinamerikanerin, geflüchtet vor ihrem überbeschützenden Papa und nun beschäftigt bei Corisi Enterprises, wo sie ihren Job mehr schlecht als recht macht, da sie auch nichts richtig gelernt hat. eine ihrer Vorgesetzten hat sie aber lieb gewonnen und besorgt ihr den Job als Imageberaterin.Jeremy arbeitet auch hin und wieder in der Firma und man kommt immer wieder in Kontakt mit den beiden jungen heißen Chefs der Firmen, die man schon aus den Vorbänden kennt. Insoweit echt schön, wieder von denen zu hören.Jeremy ist ein Computergenie und unsterblich verliebt in Alethea, Schwester einer Frau aus den Vorbänden, die bisher noch nie richtig sympathisch rüber kam. Selbstverliebt, Adrenalinjunkie und fies. Aber wo die Liebe hinfällt.Jeisa fand Jeremy schon vor seinem Wandel liebenswert, hat sich nun auch richtig verguckt und beendet die Zusammenarbeit.Jeremy ist sich seiner Gefühle nicht sicher und will wohl sein neues Ich ausreizen und auch gefährlich leben, so dass er erst alles zu versauen scheint.Mich persönlich haben die beiden Protagonisten nicht ganz so überzeugt. Jeremy, weil er mir nicht genug Alpha und Badboy ist, ich stehe drauf und Jeisa, weil sie mir hin und wieder zu sehr als Latinodramaqueen dargestellt wird. Das hat mich gestört. Für andere mag dies aber den Charme ausmachen. Die Charaktere sind gut ausgefeilt. Besonders auch die Nebendarsteller, die ich allesamt super fand, außer Alethea natürlich.Jeisas Papa z.B., irgendwie interessant, was da mit...., aber das wird wohl eine andere Geschichte.Alles in allem also eine süße Liebesgeschichte aus eine schönen Reihe. Wenn ihr die anderen Bände noch nicht kennt, nicht so schlimm, alle sind in sich abgeschlossen.

Sonia Sotomayor graduated summa cum laude from Princeton in 1976 and from Yale Law School in 1979. She worked as an assistant district attorney in New York and then at the law firm of Pavia & Harcourt. From 1992 to 1998, she served as a judge of the U.S. District Court, Southern District of New York, and from 1998 to 2009 on the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. In May 2009, President Barack Obama nominated her as an Associate Justice of the Supreme Court; she assumed this role on August 8, 2009.

A very entertaining book, good to read. It shows that in the US everything is feasable with a strong will and the necessary capabilities. At the end it becomes a bit "more of the same", should be shorter.

There is much to learn from this book. I loved it!Very inspiring.If we define life success through personal efforts – this is school example for it.

My Beloved World by Sonia Sotomayor can be read on quite a few levels:One is how a member of a minority, acutally a number of minority groups, can succeed in spite all the odds against her. She was an energetic child who was encouraged and supported by both her parents, though in very different ways, also by her extended family with many cousins and aunts on her side. She grew up in a Puerto-Rican family in a district with many African-Americans and Hispanics. Her grandmother was the person every child needs, that special someone who provides her with unconditional love, respect and confidence. Educated in a Catholic schools she learned early on to be very disciplined. Discipline she needs a lot of, escpealliy after being diagnosed with juvenile diabetes, an everyday challenge that required discipline and courage of her. Her fahter died of alcoholism when she was only nine, another blow to any child, disruptive to any childhood, but Sonia kept on going the right way.She was encouraged to go to university and succeeded beyond anone’s wildest dreams. Supported by affirmative action Sotomayor did an outstanding job.Her first marriage ends after some time, and maybe most men today still find it hard to cope with a strong, independent woman. So she seems to define herself in many ways by her performance and the many friends who surround and support her.She points out quite clearly she needed the help of others to succeed. She wants to encourage any minority member not believe in labels stuck onto them but just be themselves - sounds really like a cliché – but some things can be expressed in a very easy way. It is just hard to do them.Very recommendable reading for anyone.

I admire her for doing so.If you read only one memoir this year, I commend this one to you as an excellent choice.
